A BECOMING RETREAT EXPERIENCE

We’ve all considered our carbon footprint, but have we considered our spiritual footprint, that is, the impact our lives have on the people we meet, the places we go, and the things we do when we walk by faith.
What to Expect
The retreat will include musical worship, excellent food, live mini-teachings, personal reflective exercises, open discussion, and the giving and receiving of blessings. As participants, Kerry will guide you to apply the 12 Becoming practices to your life situations, creative endeavors, and relationships. Since this retreat is for BECOMERS familiar with the first eight tools through a previous retreat or Becoming Academy course, our time together will focus on the final four tools of BECOMING: ANOINT, CREATE, ASSEMBLE, and ABIDE. This is a chance for our community to gather together, be strengthened in heart, and share our experiences.

Kerry will be your guide on retreat, sharing new mini-teachings to help you understand and engage in these helpful practices that are meant to be applied to your life, work, and relationships. This will be a facilitation style retreat meant to help you immerse yourself more fully in your story rather than just gain more knowledge.

The Bible says, “God dwells in the praises of His people” Psalm 22:3 and “we enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.” psalm 100:4. This is why singing worship and declaring praises is an integral part of every BECOMING experience. We have invited anointed worship leaders, longtime BECOMER Melodee DeVevo of Casting Crowns (with accompaniment by her husband Juan), to usher us into God’s presence to do this rewarding work of faith.
What is Provided

Under the registration price, all materials will be provided. You may want to bring your own Bible.

Friday’s welcome reception will consist of plentiful boards and heavy appetizers (with gluten-free and dairy-free options provided). On Saturday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided, as well as coffee, tea, citrus-infused water, and sweet and savory snacks. Sunday morning, we will serve s light breakfast, coffee, tea, and water, as well as a departing snack for travelers.

After registering, you will automatically receive a link in your confirmation email to access selected teaching videos at The Becoming Academy at no additional cost. They are short intro videos selected to familiarize and refresh experienced becomers with each of the first 8 of 12 BECOMING tools to optimize your in-person experience.

Meeting House Hotel (Opens in October)

The room block at the host hotel will be found here when the proprietors can go live taking reservations. Currently, they are waiting on final inspections for certain parts of the hotel itself, but they assure us they intend to be in full service on time for the retreat. The 2nd floor is where the actual retreat will happen, and the restaurant is open. Email jodyolympia@gmail.com with notice of your intent to be a part of the room block. Price will be comparable to the Hilton Garden Inn, 5 minutes away.
